Did a WWI era Wyo Guard soldier inspire the state’s iconic bucking horse logo?

humidorGeorge Ostrom, a Wyoming soldier who, 100 years ago today, was fighting in World War I as part of the 148th Field Artillery Regiment, created a logo to mark Wyoming’s equipment.

That logo, a bucking horse, preceded the state’s current trademarked horse. Did Ostrom’s design inspire the current logo that brands Wyoming? You decide.
