Wyo. Veterans Commission vacancy in Big Horn County

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – In an effort to provide improved coverage within the Bighorn Basin, the Wyoming Veterans Commission is relocating a vacant commissioner position to the northern area of Bighorn County (Judicial District 5). The southern end of Bighorn County, Hot Springs, and Washakie Counties continue to be represented by Commissioner Herm Emmett of Worland.

Applicants should apply for the vacancy using the guidelines outlined at http://governor.wyo.gov/boards-and-commissions. All applications must be sent to the Governor’s Office.

The position will remain open until filled.

The Wyoming Veterans Commission has a statutory duty of advising the Governor and Wyoming Legislature on state and federal veterans benefits. The commission has oversight of the veterans services program, Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery, Wyoming Veterans Museum, and Wyoming National Guard Museum.

The commission meets quarterly or as needed to address issues relevant to all Wyoming veterans.
