A memorial highlighting the service of the four Wyoming National Guard members who died overseas fighting the Global War on Terror will be dedicated Wednesday at the Joint Forces Readiness Center, in Cheyenne.

The ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m.; the public is invited to attend.

Families of the four soldiers will be in attendance for the dedication.

“These were our brothers in arms and they paid the ultimate sacrifice,” said Command Sgt. Maj. Harold Pafford, the Wyoming Army National Guard’s command sergeant major. “We hope to never have to add another Wyoming Guard soldier or airman to the memorial.”

The soldiers being honored at the ceremony are:

Capt. Robert Lucero who died in Iraq on Sept. 25, 2003

Sgt. 1st Class Michael Parrott who died in Iraq on Nov. 10, 2006

Capt. Bruce Hays who died in Afghanistan on Sept. 17, 2008

Chief Warrant Officer 3 Andrew McAdams who died in Afghanistan on Jan. 10, 2014
