CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Dave McDonell and Ivette Orozco were recently appointed as State Veterans Service Officers for the Wyoming Veterans Commission.
McDonell and Orozco’s office is located at the Wyoming Army National Guard Armory, 5905 CY Ave., Casper, Wyoming.

McDonell served more than 22 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a first sergeant with tours of duty in Germany, Southwest Asia, Bosnia and various places in the United States.

Orozco served more than 27 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a chief warrant officer 3. She worked at the National Guard Bureau in Arlington, Virginia, and at the Colorado Army National Guard as one of the Army National Guard liaisons between the military services. She served tours of duty in Germany, Korea, Alaska, Southwest Asia, and across the United States.

As disabled veterans, McDonell and Orozco understand the unique challenges veterans face as they apply for state and federal benefits, VA healthcare, and VA disability and pension claims.

“Dave and Ivette have been accredited by the VA after completing their initial training. We welcome them to our team and know they will provide veterans in central Wyoming with highly professional assistance,” said Larry Barttelbort, director of the Wyoming Veterans Commission.

McDonell and Orozco will conduct outreach services across Natrona, Converse, and Niobrara counties. Veterans can contact Orozco at 307-234-6271 ext. 4551 or 307-315-4187, and can contact McDonell at 307-258-1100 or 307-234-6271 ext. 4553, to schedule an appointment to review their eligibility for state and federal VA benefits.
